Live video of Camila at El Teatro en el El Museo del Barrio (NYC). The building used to be an orphanage decades before. Some say that you can still listen to children’s laughter at night. This was a special interactive Balún concert for children and adults that incorporated live visuals, instrument making and audience participation. For this song we were joined by Julio Cesar Morales from the experimental puppet theater company Y No Había Luz (http://http://www.ynohabialuz.com/). Thanks so much to Armando Croda for putting this video together!

So once in a while we go off and do some music outside Balún that later ends up in the group. This one is the latest audiovisual collaboration between three of us in the band. La Aldea (The Village) is inspired and accompanied by the sensationalist documentary “Menace of Guatemala” (1934) which focuses on the threat of volcanoes in the Agua area of Guatemala.

This one is an interview after our “set” at the IRMF 2010 in Puerto Rico last May. Long story short we got to play only three songs because of rain and some disorganized dudes. So we had something to say. Also, look who’s back! Andrés! and his words are classic Andrés at it’s best.

We were invited by our friends from Frecuencias Alternas to be part of their Musica Realenga series which takes bands and musicians and asks them to play acoustic versions of their song in unusual settings around San Juan. We performed in manifestation that took part by students, faculty and other supporters from the University of Puerto Rico that at that moment were on a strike that lasted two months and paralyzed the whole public higher education system of the island. For this special presentation our first guitarist Andrés re-joined the band and we played as a quintet for the first time!

The song is called “Las Abejas” and it’s new. Soon we’ll release that song, along with other new ones, on an MP3-EP with 8bitpeoples. Stream/download: http://bit.ly/7wQs

Hey all, two months ago we went to Seattle where we played as part of the Decibel Fest. The city of grunge rock and Starbucks treated us really well! Met a bunch of nice people and had a great time at it! Special jumbo thanks & jumbo hugs to Yumiko and Billy who let us stay in their home and took us around town. They are the best! We hope to come back soon to visit you guys and the city. Here are some pics, videos and reviews of our show. Have fun!
